Tips About Dog Food

Let's get started with a definition for dog food: Dog food is plant or animal material intended for consumption by dogs or other canines. You have to be aware of that it's not enough for dogs to have a full stomach after every meal. All pets (and we human beings as well) need proper nutrition in order to be healthy, happy and their coats soft and glossy.  The cost of dog food and its brand is not important as an idicator of the usability. The best and easiest way to find out which food is best for our dog is to observe how their response is to the chow they take in. Dog Food Dog food comes in a variety of shapes and sizes – and choosing the right dog food for your dog will be one of the most important decisions you make.

The following seven tips are existential for the healthy of your dog:

•       Dogs and Bones

You will be astonished but don’t give a dog a bone! Feeding bones to dogs is not a good idea. as small soft bones gnawed and eaten by dogs feel like splinters inside their throat causing them to choke.  You have to remember that dogs have short digestive tracts.   And dogs have no saliva amylase, an enzyme that is used to predigest starch.

•       Dogs and Pet Food

Read the labels on the pet food to understand exactly what's included. Man's best friend should have a diet rich in meat protein.   When shopping pet foods like canned foods, look for chicken, turkey meat, pork or other animal by products as these keep the dog's coat smooth and healthy.  Important for dogs which contain high vegetable protein levels because these are easily digestible and are a great source of energy. And by the way dogs prefer this kind of food.

•       Dogs and Chocolate

Chocolate is lethal for your dog. The most dangerous kind of chocolate is the dark chocolate kind.  The major parts of chocolate like methylxanthine alkaloids and theobromine are digested and excreted by humans in as little as three hours but the same parts when ingested by dogs stays inside them for eightteen hours.   This is a proven fact and it's fatal.  Dogs eating chocolate can have the following symptoms: hyperactivity, vomiting, excessive urination,  diarrhea, followed by seizure, coma, and death.

•       Dogs and Food Supplements

Food supplements in general are unnecessary. But only if your dog receives a regular intake of complete and balanced food nutrients.  The balanced food should include good sources of carbohydrates include rice, corn, oatmeal, wheat.  A highly specialized nutrition is only necessary if dogs do not get enough physical activity or are currently undergoing a stressful routine change.

•       Dogs and Raw Fish

Raw fish is nothing for your dog. It results in thiamine-deficiency and it usually has the following effects: abnormal posture, loss of appetite, weakness and in some cases death.

•       Dogs and Eggs

Eggs are a no-no for your dog. The consistent consumption of raw eggs make a dog’s skin breakout.  In canine terms - since eggs diminish the biotin available in their body – dermatitis and hair loss are its usual effects.

•       Dogs and Fresh Food

Fresh dog foods are highly palatable, contains zero preservative (BHA, BHT, Ethoxyquin), and use only fresh wholesome ingredients. Fresh dog food uses the pasteurization instead of the traditional extrusion method used to process pet food.

Feed your dog a healthy diet and he will return the favor with a beautiful coat and many years of companionship!
